Why is fatherhoos viewed as violent, abusive and a unessesary in our society?

I don't think feminists are afraid of good fathers seeing their children, so much as loosing the little ones, themselves. Communal child rearing IS better for the child (and for parents), but that by no means excludes the father. Good question.
