Who will compensate the fishermen of the gulf coast who face ruin due to the oil slick?

From what I understand, BP (British Petroleum) is paying some of these fishermen to help with the clean-up and with trying to prevent the oil from reaching wildlife areas (training them to place "booms" and stuff). This spill is going to be quite costly for tourism all along our Gulf coast, but BP is liable, according to news reports on CNN and MSNBC.
